Youth Advisory Board
What is YAB?

Youth Advisory Board is a group of students in the 11th and 12th grade who represent their region of the state to Idaho Drug Free Youth.

The youth Advisory Board members meet with the staff of iDFY and determine goals and programs for the year. Additionally, YAB members complete projects in their local community each year that address a need.
Through this program, YAB members enhance their leadership skills, affect change in their community, and represent their peers on the state level.

What is the Youth Advisory Board?
Have you ever wanted to join a team of movers, dreamers, and doers who lead
their peers and community in making happier & healthier decisions?

YAB may be just the opportunity for you!

YAB is composed of high school students who represent iDFY and serve as youth advocates across Idaho. Members have a high level of responsibility in being alcohol, tobacco, and drug free role models. Throughout their one-year term, YAB members are called upon to have input on various iDFY programs including but not limited to: Chapters, Campaigns, Youth Vision, and Idaho Youth Summit.
The Youth Advisory Board members are selected from a large pool of applicants and chosen based on their commitment to the iDFY mission, desire to promote substance-use prevention, and ability to work with other youth and adults for a common purpose. Each member commits approximately 5-10 hours a month to the board. Responsibilities include participating in video meetings and training, participating in Campaign projects, and assisting in the planning of Idaho Youth Summit 2025 as well as Campaigns.
